Top Ten New Species
The International Institute for Species Exploration at Arizona State University and a committee of scientists from around the world recently announced their picks for the top 10 new species. All were discovered in 2011.
Above is the first species on the list - sneezing monkey (Rhinopithecus strykeri). It’s so named because it tends to sneeze when it rains. It is the first snub-nosed monkey to be reported from Myanmar.

Italian team Liquigas-Cannondale takes a spin through Ventura County with local cyclists

Local cyclists took a spin with the pros Monday when Italian team Liquigas-Cannondale visited the Conejo Valley.

About 80 local bicyclists were invited to Newbury Park Bike Shop to meet 10 Cannondale team members during one of the team’s few trips to California.

On the sunny morning, the cyclists prepared for a 25-mile ride from Newbury Park to Hidden Valley and back. A bold green team truck played music as the riders assembled and mingled, and Cannondale representatives displayed the world-class team’s bikes, the SuperSix Evo.
